You Can’t Hold Back the Past
Every market, I fall in love. Seduced by a stream of new product and design trends being served in beautiful permanent and pop-up showrooms, this go-round I crushed hard on mid-century modern designs that vibed 70’s. This incarnation of retro charmed me visually and emotionally; it had me craving swanky sunken living rooms, sofa pits, and cozy wood-paneled dens.
Walking the floors of Americasmart and World Market, I cannot remember a time when macrame was in such huge fervor. From wall decor to planters, these hippie-approved nostalgic weaves roped me in. Shaggy textiles and fringe provided plenty of tactile reward, and bohemian brights and a generous dose of rust further substantiated this vintage modern trend.
Here is a smidge of what captured my heart.
