Adventures in High Point Spring 2018

Every trip to High Point Market is an adventure ... seeing friends, finding new, fabulous manufacturers, endless showrooms full of inspiration. It's a place to refresh one's sense of décor, see what's new for the coming season, and celebrate the art of furniture and design. Everywhere you look, there is something extraordinary to explore. And each season, we find commonalities where the great minds of furniture design have clearly been having the same décor dreams. Here are a few of our favorite trends from Spring 2018.

Wall Flower

This season's florals are oversized, dark, and oh, so moody, bringing with them a depth of emotion previous iterations of this trend have not. Large floral prints in burgundy, grey, and cream are a welcome addition to walls, sofas, and large case pieces.

Perforation

Sofas and chairs this High Point Market have been playing "peek-a-boo," sporting chic cutouts and lending a bit of unexpected light to their forms. These perforations provide a feeling of weightlessness to otherwise large, imposing shapes.

So Base-ic

And speaking of sofas and chairs, we're seeing bases in sparkling metallics and warm solid wood holding down the fort of your favorite focal point. While legs aren't completely out of fashion, we're loving these updated pieces that are firmly planted on the ground.

Return to Quality

In recent years fast furniture, much like fast fashion, has been quasi "en vogue." Much to our delight, we're seeing buyers return to pieces of quality that they can pass down to their children as they age. Beautifully made pieces, attention to detail, and exquisite craftsmanship are here to stay, and we're not mad about it.
